A group of friends who all work together recently had a match at Redwood Park. We were on the Arc Lake and had a most enjoyable time.
We were first greeted with bacon butties and a drink which went down very well.
There was one of our group who is disabled and it was no bother for the owners to take him and his tackle to his peg in a 4x4 vehicle.
All the pegs had nets already laid out and all were well marked with easy access. The weather could have been kinder but that still didn’t stop the fish feeding.
About halfway through the match we each were visited by the owners asked how things were going and given one or two tips, and, at the same time, more drinks and a burger were brought to our pegs - now that what I call service!
Every one caught fish even those who were not regular anglers and all the fish were in tip top condition which was nice to see.
At the end of the match we were helped with the weigh in and our disabled colleague was collected along with his tackle - all of which made for a most pleasant days fishing.
The match itsself was to remember a former work and fishing friend. We are looking forward to returning next year for more of the same.
The whole site, whilst still in its infancy, has been planted very sympathetically with hundreds of trees, shrubs and water side plants which given time should prove to be a real haven for wild life.
must go to the dedicated team on achieving so much in such a short space of time. |
